Typical Challenges

Incomplete Documents

Make sure you have all required documents before going to the bank. If something is missing, your application could be delayed or rejected.

Language Barriers

Many bank employees may not speak fluent English or German. Using translation tools or being accompanied by someone who speaks fluent Russian can significantly ease the process.

Tourist Visa Restrictions

If you have a tourist visa, some banks may not allow account opening. It is advisable to have a long-term visa or residence permit to avoid complications.

Sanctions-Related Restrictions

Western credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) do not work in Russia. The MIR card is the national payment system and works reliably nationwide.
